CANANDAIGUA MOTORSPORTS PARK & RANSOMVILLE SPEEDWAY OFFERING FRIENDSHIP PASS TO ITS COMPETITORS

In an effort to provide unity between the two tracks, both Ransomville (NY) Speedway and Canandaigua (NY) Motorsports Park will be offering a "Friendship Pass" to each of it's competitors for the 2012 season.

The program will be allowed for Ransomville Speedway's Sportsman and Street Stock Division along with the Canandaigua Motorsports Park Sportsman and Pure Stock classes only. Each driver who chooses to use the friendship pass will be allowed to get a "buy one get one free" pit pass. Each race team will be able to use the program for up to three of it's members, which will allow six persons from each team to benefit.

Under the DIRTcar Northeast banner, the Sportsman Division run under the same rules. Ransomville Speedway's Street Stock class and Canandaigua's Pure Stock Division each run under similar rules and are unsanctioned.

The Friendship Pass can only be used for a regular night of racing. No special events. Drivers can take advantage of the Buy One Get One promotion a total of three times a season. You must also be a regular weekly competitor at Ransomville Speedway or Canandaigua Motorsports Park to qualify for the promotion.

"Since we're both a part of DIRTcar Northeast, we consider Canandaigua Motorsports Park one of our sister tracks," says Ransomville Speedway public relations and marketing director Tana Robinson. "We'd love to see Canandaigua's regular drivers compete with us as well as some of our drivers going down the Thruway to Canandaigua on Saturday."

"The program will allow those drivers to save a few dollars. We know that the expenses for gasoline are going up. The buy one get one format will allow those to save some money on the traveling costs."

Canandaigua Motorsports Park General Manager Jeremie Corcoran is currently in his second season at the helm of the Ontario County Fairgrounds half-mile oval.

"We're proud to be working with Jeremie and his staff at Canandaigua," adds Robinson. "We also work with Brewerton Speedway with our Alex Friesen Summer Nationals. We at Ransomville Speedway feel it's essential to work together with other racing facilities to help each other out."

The Friendship Pass program will begin immediately. Canandaigua Motorsports Park has successfully run a pair of racing programs to open it's 2012 season. Ransomville Speedway will open it's 55th year of racing on Friday, May 4th. The test tune and time program is scheduled for Friday, April 27th. Canandaigua Motorsports Park will run a five division program this Saturday night.
